So You Want To Talk About Race Book Club

So You Want To Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo is a phenomenal resource to build antiracism awareness and grow your antiracism muscles. This book club is open to all who want to focus on the 4 A’s:

  1. Awareness: “You don’t know what you don’t know”. Use this as an opportunity to build your awareness around diversity, inclusion and anti-racism topics.

  2. Ability: “I don’t know what to say” or “I’m afraid to say the wrong thing”. The more you educate yourself, the greater level of comfort you will have when it comes to having these critical conversations.

  3. Antiracist: “In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist, we must be antiracist.” - Angela Davis. Learn how to be an actively be antiracist.

  4. Action: “What can I do?” While I can talk about books and learning all day, let’s not just make this about discussion. We’ll close every discussion with each participant declaring their personal next steps.

I will start with two groups. Each group will meet twice for 60 minutes.

Wednesday Cohort: June 17 and June 24 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. CST.

Thursday Cohort: June 18 and June 25 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. CST.

Registration is now closed. Stay tuned for future book club offerings!
