What I'm Learning from Dr. Joe

Dane and I recently downloaded the Audible book “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself” by Dr. Joe Dispenza. Part of me was intrigued by the title (mostly because I think I’m pretty cool!) and part of me has been interested in Joe’s work for a long time. We hit play on the book this weekend and I literally can’t stop sending the “mind blown” emoji to Dane. I’m only on Chapter 3. This week’s blog post is a sneak peak in to some lessons I’m learning by diving into this new book.

A big a-ha moment I’ve had so far is the power of your body and emotions when it comes to fueling your inner determination. I am all for setting goals, setting intentions and then actually doing the work to achieve what you want to achieve. I 100% believe in the power of finding that self-confidence that you need to believe in your dreams.

Until my buddy Dr. Joe told me that wasn’t enough!

You know those things you hear over and over again and then one day it finally clicks? Dr. Joe helped me understand that while there is power in our thoughts, the real magic doesn’t start until our inner emotions align with those thoughts. I need to feel myself as successful AND mentally believe it to be true. You need to feel you are worthy of love AND mentally believe it to be true.

Duh.

It’s easier said than done, though. I often find that I’m usually one or the other. He described that this sends “mixed signals” to the Universe which is why things pretty much stay the same. When your mind and emotions are in sync, that is when you have those crazy cool “meant to be” moments.

In order to get “unstuck”, we have to learn how to elevate our emotions and our mental beliefs to the same level. For me, I find clarity in both through journaling, reflecting on where I’m at in life and asking questions that might uncover limiting beliefs.

How are your emotions and thoughts in / out of sync? What can you do to bring them in to alignment today?
