There are so many amazing resources to learn from available to us 24 hours a day. From articles to videos to classes to coaches, the amount of ways you can get access to the information and answers you need is practically limitless.
But I believe there’s one question we need to start asking before looking for answers outside of ourselves:
Am I doing this with the intention of curiosity or am I seeking permission?
Sometimes, when we find ourselves in “research” mode or when we tell ourselves “I need to learn more before I can do ____”, we end up outsourcing our most valuable resource: our intuition.
Your intuition is so much more than a gut feeling. Your intuition is an endless, renewable, evergreen resource also available to you 24 hours a day. Your intuition may not deliver to you a manual on “how to start a business” but it will always tell you what the next right thing to do is.
I have found that often when I am in the mode of research or learning, what I’m actually seeking is permission.
Permission to do what I want to do.
Permission to do things how I want to do it.
Permission to be my highest self and stand out amongst the sea of sameness.
I’m kind of embarrassed to admit this. Want to know why? Because I ask myself “why does someone as confident as I am need permission to do anything in this world?” Conditioning, that’s why.
We’ve been taught that learning comes from outside of ourselves. We’ve never learned how to fully tap into our own hearts for answers.
It’s not that outsourcing your intuition is bad. Actually, it can be a very powerful way to expedite your growth, find immense clarity, and hone in on the direction of your life. Where it starts to work against us, is when we rely on those things to move our life along. It’s when we default to something or someone outside of ourselves FIRST that we know we’ve gone too far with it.
As an intuitive life coach, spiritual healer, and human design expert, I am so passionate about this topic because this is an exact, real-life example of how to blend spirituality (your intuition) with strategy (hiring, buying, or leveraging resources to improve your life).
So, the next time you find yourself *needing* to hire that healer, coach, reader, teacher, etc. aka outsourcing your intuition, I want you to ask yourself if you are doing so out of genuine curiosity or if you are seeking permission to be who you really are and do what you really want to do.
If the answer is from a place of curiosity, perhaps consider an emailed intuitive reading with me! I’d be happy to walk alongside your intuitive journey and help you uncover your own truths.
[Side note: I often dream of auditing small businesses and helping them pinpoint places in their customer experience or offering or strategy that may be hindering business. If I were auditing this blog post right now, I’d say “What are ya nuts? Telling people not to outsource their intuition and you are an intuitive life coach for hire?!” Ha. Empowering you to know and do better is more important to me than getting hired!]
