How to develop your intuition with your Human Design Chart

A Human Design chart shows us who were before the world told us who we should be. It is based on when we were born and represents our energetic and intuitive blueprint. Within your human design chart, you can gain a better understanding of the *main* way your intuition speaks to you. Keep in mind that by learning each intuitive strategy, or human design “authority”, you are also learning more of the ways your intuition can speak to you (aka all of what we’ll discuss today is available and present within you).

When you look at your human design chart, find your “authority” or “intuition”. This is the method that your intuition speaks to you most loudly, especially in decision making. While there are many ways for intuition to present itself to you, this part of your chart indicates the way that your intuition most consistently speaks to you. This is helpful for intuitive development because it gives you a point of focus to work with (versus trying to be or do all the intuitive things at once).

Let’s break down each human design authority as it relates to your intuitive decision-making process.

  • Emotional Solar Plexus: use the power of your emotional navigation system, and decisions over time versus "eureka!", not reactive to highs or lows!

  • Sacral: subtle and immediate responses (classic “gut feeling”),, yes or no, power of "sacral" questioning, use the present moment

  • Splenic: an existential knowing, present moment direction, often changes

  • Heart (Manifestor): speak what you seek, eliminate self-censorship, blurt it out

  • Heart (Projector): tied to invitation, self-focused decision making; ask “What’s in it for me?”

  • Self-Projected: listen to your own articulations, decisions that bring joy and pleasure, verbal processor

  • Environmental (Mental Projector): sensory + environmental guidance, talk to sounding boards after the decision is made

  • Lunar (Reflector): 28 days to decide, don’t let the world rush you, need the right people + place

Understanding your unique human design  intuitive strategy as well as your own reflection and discernment for how your intuition speaks to you is key to intuitive leadership. As you become intimate with your intuition, you will more consistently be able to “tune in”. It is possible to live fully by intuition - it is not meant to be something that you only plug and play with.

It’s one thing to understand this aspect of your human design chart, but it’s another thing to actually apply what you’ve learned. Here’s a simple experiment to try as you develop your intuition:

Choose a simple daily decision (i.e. choosing a coffee mug, picking out a shirt to wear). Use your unique human design intuitive strategy to guide your decision-making. (Note for reflectors: since you may not have 28 days to decide what shirt you are going to wear today, don’t be afraid to start this experiment with a larger life decision.) Not only will this help you develop your intuition, but it will also help you develop a trusting relationship with your intuition. If you can allow yourself to be guided intuitively when it comes to picking out a coffee mug, you’ll be more likely to allow your intuition to guide you through life’s greater decisions.
